What's up, guys :) My name is Harrison. I'd like to tell you a bit about how this incredible idea to bring Airsoft to the Midwest all began (nearly by accident)

Airsoft is a game most would be familiar with just by watching a YouTube video of some crazy viral fight or being invited to a small wooded area behind a friend's house to shoot each other randomly and chaotically with no real set of rules or boundaries, just good ol fun. This was no different for me when getting started. I was introduced to this game when a friend brought over a duffle bag full of random guns and parts and handed me a plastic pistol that now looking back probably costs less than my right boot lace, we all start somewhere, right?

I was around 13 when I became fascinated with these toy replicas and after about a year, I had scheduled many weekends with friends who would invite friends of friends and some of their friends as well a lot of times totaling about 20 to 30 people playing on the same bare ground as what HTK's fields are built on today.

By now I figured it was about time I upgraded my equipment. This is where things took an interesting turn. I had been watching many YouTube videos about guns and gear like all Airsofters do and this is when I discovered Novritsch. This sparked a whole new and very intense love for the game... The strategic movements, aggression, the gear and of course the guns. Novritsch had just released the SSG24 and saying I had to have one was an understatement.

I spent weeks saving for it watching the first batch sell out immediately while the second launched not long after. Eventually, the funds were there to purchase this Airsoft sniper rifle that was so sought after in its release to the public. After months of waiting as it was in such high demand, the package arrived, I tore it open and looked at it in all its glory.

Since at this time it was always just our personal friend group playing, I made sure to purchase the strongest spring possible as i believed it would give a better tactical advantage and none of us cared about FPS or Joule limits. Sadly somewhere along the install process, I broke my new gun without even having a chance to use it.

While this all seems ridiculous now, to a 13-year-old with zero Airsoft tech experience and not a proper guide to solve the unknown problem at the time, this was a pretty serious issue for me now being too afraid to lay hands on it. Picture editing an entire nature documentary for National Geographic and right before exporting your completed masterpiece, your cat spills coffee all over your Macbook and fries it instantly and you miss your deadline. Or you get promoted at your job after years of climbing the corporate ladder just for the women who divorced you a week before to somehow swoop in and take the spot right out from under you (something like that)

Luckily Evike's Airsoft Con was just 3 weeks away, hosted at their store in California. This is the dream experience for Airsofters you see, all the big companies are staged there with huge YouTube influencers walking around everywhere and the largest Airsoft retail store at the heart of it all. I had flown with my dad who had also taken an interest in this game I had become completely addicted to. Knowing Novritsch would be attending the convention, I made sure to pack my rifle in hopes of finding a solution to my problem through the creator himself.

Upon arrival, we immediately started making our way through dense crowds of people swarming the many vendors spread around the parking lot of the store, trying to see if we could spot where Novritsch would be staged. A line of probably 70 or so people led to him, and long story short, he was able to quickly spot the issue and suggest a solution to fix the overall problem. I got to ask him and his team many questions no one around my home, which at this time was deprived of this level of Airsoft experience, could answer.

While at the convention we opened ourselves up to this industry and learned as much as possible speaking to recognizable figures and brands that I found through my hours on YouTube and different websites.

After returning home and realizing what my mission had to be, I looked at the resources That were near and paired It with the knowledge we had gathered from our trip. My dad had many immediate ideas and became nearly as excited as I was for this new model we had begun developing. He threw out many ideas for field layout and name/logo, which eventually became the current HTK logo you see all over our facilities and social media.

What started as just an expanding group of friends playing backyard Airsoft soon became a loosely structured business. Every day of work was done with the help of my incredibly supportive family who always matched my passion for anything I did. With no public schooling, both me and my younger sisters' only rule in life was to do whatever we chose as efficiently as possible and give it all we could whether that was education, business, or even just a simple hobby.

In just a few short years, HTK became a destination for Airsofters in the surrounding states and even branched out to the far corners of the country with an occasional visit from international teams/players attending tournaments at our widely recognized competitive Speedsoft arena. HTK has grown exponentially over the years with the extraordinary moral support from the community, even sometimes providing voluntary hands-on work to build our facilities into what they are today.

This makes HTK Airsoft a true family-run business whose devout loyalty and passion are always driven toward the community that has given us as much as we are trying to give to you. What started as a broken gun and the same passion for the game that all new players feel when they get started, and with the help of all of you turned into an opportunity to continue growing this amazing sport

From the whole HTK team, thank you.
